At first I was going to say I've never seen these people before, but then I looked at this post, and now I'm not so sure. See any resemblance in the features? [Click To Enlarge]
Fenix: Comment window done. Re: the resemblance, actually all three are in both pictures. The "old lady" is the woman with the babies on her lap, the woman on the left is in the same position in the group photo (as a young lady), and the man is, I think, the one in the back row middle. (I'm cracking up over this!) I think my mother is one of the young girls in the group photo! I'll have to take it to her and ask the next time I see her, lol.
So, then she would be the soldier's grandma, right? Though she seems pretty young in the "family by stonewall" photo to be a grandma. Eight kiddos... My grandma had 13! And I have 0. Sign of the times...
Fenix: LOL, I'm figuring this out with you! I visited my mother this afternoon and asked her about the photo: the old lady with the soldier and girl is the same woman as in the "stone wall" photo; the soldier is her youngest son. Only three of the kids are hers, the rest are all kids "placed" with her. She had a large farm in Londonderry, NH, and cared for the kids as if they were her own. My mother is the little girl behind her, to the right. The woman charged my Grandmother $4 per week to care for my mother! My mother pretty much grew up on the farm, not leaving it till she was seventeen. Now you know as much as I do, lol!
My mother had given me a few photos a couple of years ago without telling me who the people were or where the photos came from, that's why I'm figuring things out with you. I didn't even know that was her in this photo!

I do. The soldier in the previous picture looks exactly like the lady in the center of this picture!
A request: Would you set the comment window for this blog to open as a small window, please? Thanks. :)

I see... It all makes sense now. She did look a bit too old to be the mother of those babies. Four bucks a week per child, back then?! Gee.
And didn't your mom ask "Who did you say this Boston person was?" LOL!
This is very cool, oh yes. :D
Fenix: Very cool, indeed!
